Kim Kardashian is giving cupping therapy a try to ease her neck pain.
The alternative medical treatment, in which suction cups are heated and placed on the skin to improve blood circulation to sore muscles, has become a hot topic since Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and his fellow Team USA competitors were spotted sporting dark red bruises from the therapy during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
Now it appears Kanye West’s wife is trying out the ancient Chinese health treatment for herself after taking to Snapchat late on Monday (08Aug16) to share her new adventure.
In a series of posts, Kim revealed she was undergoing an acupuncture session followed by cupping therapy from the comfort of her own bedroom to help fix a neck issue.
“OK guys, we’re going to do acupuncture on my feet and my hands to try to help my neck,” she explained in a brief video.
She then posted a photo of a tray of glass cups and added the caption, “Trying cupping!”
Kim has yet to update fans about her treatment, and whether or not it helped to rid her of the pain in her neck, but she was back in the gym on Tuesday morning (09Aug16), when she uploaded a clip of herself working out.
The mother-of-two has been dedicated to slimming down after giving birth to son Saint in December (15), and recently announced she is just five pounds (2.27 kilograms) off her goal weight of 120 pounds (54.43 kilograms).
Kim isn’t the first Hollywood celebrity to try cupping – Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, and Jessica Simpson have all previously given the treatment a go.
