Unknown gunmen have killed a chieftain of the All Progressives Party, APC, in Obor Community in Osomini area of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Mr. Emmanuel Obuozo was assassinated at the early hours of Wednesday by the gunmen at his residence in Obor community.
The AUTHORITY gathered that Obuozo till his death was the leader of the All Progressives Congress in ward five of ONELGA.
A source who disclosed the incident to our correspondent stated that the suspected assassin invaded the home of the APC chieftain shooting sporadically to make way for the killing of their target.
The source said, “Mr. Emma has been killed by some gunmen whom we have not identified. He is one of the leaders of APC in our community.
“The community is now in fear. We do not know what may have happened, but in the night we heard several gunshots. Later in the morning it was confirmed that Emma has been murdered.”
A senior police officer in the area who also confirmed the incident to our correspondent said investigation had commenced to unravel the perpetrators of the crime.
