The All Progressives Congress, Benue State chapter has disowned the group of persons parading themselves as Concerned APC Stakeholders Forum.
The APC said the petition written by the unknown faces, calling for the removal of Emmanuel Abba Yaro as the party’s chairman was not endorsed by them.
The Concerned APC Stakeholders Forum had in a petition submitted at the Zonal Office of the party in Lafia, the Nasarawa called on leadership of the party to remove Yaro for alleged anti-party activities.
Reacting to the development, the spokesman for the party in Benue South, Okpokwu Ogenyi described the group as faceless.
Ogenyi told DAILY POST that the ruling party has no business with the faceless group.
“We don’t know any group called Concerned APC Stakeholders Forum in Benue. Such petition was never endorsed by our party. As a matter of fact, the group is faceless and should be taken seriously.
“I saw a copy of the petition being circulated on social media and I can tell you authoritatively that it did not come from the Benue APC.
“These are agents of the opposition trying to distract the APC-led government in the state. They have ran out of ideas, this is one of the tactics they are using to bring down the party,” Ogenyi added.
